Meet Sharon
A little about me...
Originally from Montreal, Canada, Sharon Hillenaar has had the good fortune of being able to live in 5 different countries over the last 10 years; the US being her most recent relocation. Whilst living overseas Sharon had her own craft supply import/export business, she fostered a love for health and fitness with many hours of training for 1/2 marathons and attending cycling classes; her two favorite activities. After selling her business in 2013, she soon found herself longing to get involved in the health and fitness industry. Often thinking of her mother’s advice of “following your heart and the rest will fall into place” she enrolled in a Spinning® course and became a certified Spin® instructor. That began her journey in the fitness world. Since completing her Spinning certification, Sharon became an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified personal trainer, 200RYT (200Hr Yoga Alliance instructor), 300RYT in process and a Pilates instructor.

Training for Life is about setting yourself up for long term success with realistic goals and determination. Providing tools, ideas and support to make that success a reality is what helps feed that long term goal and that’s what Sharon believes her biggest role is within the health and fitness industry. “Seeing proud, smiling confident faces is what I hope will be the end result of any training support I provide”.

Sharon’s classes never disappoint! I love the variety in them and even though we are doing the classes remotely she can still watch us and give us feedback on our form, etc.. And Sharon is one of the most encouraging coaches I have worked with! There are different classes offered throughout the week, so it is easy to find one(s) that works for your schedule. I highly recommend you give one of her classes a try!
Since starting Yoga classes with Sharon (after years of minimal physical activity due to an injury), I am feeling better than ever! Sharon is accommodating to everyone, and really meets you where you are. With her gentle encouragement, adaptive teaching style, (and awesome sense of humor😉) she has helped guide me back into an activity that I love and missed. I am so appreciative and forever grateful. I look forward to our classes every week!
I have been an in-person client of Sharon's since 2018 and have continued since the pandemic with Zoom workouts. I have taken her yoga, circuits, and Pilates classes and have enjoyed them (as much as I can say I "enjoy" working out!) immensely. Sharon's enthusiasm and encouragement motivate me to attend classes and my overall health has benefitted from that. Sharon is very knowledgeable, provides adaptations for all fitness levels, and is quick to correct form so that her clients get the most out of each workout. I just turned 48, take no medications and am in the "normal" range of all of my health metrics! This is due in great part to regular workouts with Sharon!
